So Zeradar is here! If you purchased the Collector’s Edition of Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void you get the adorable and super cool pet Zeradar (plus a ton of other Blizzard goodies for their other games) I hurried and leveled him up to 25 using the Panda tamers because he’s got a great moveset with Psionic Storm being the star act.
Yeah, it’s more AOE but that seems to be the order of the day and well, I just go with the flow. I wish more pets were viable for PvP but as it stands right now, not many are. He handled himself alright even against a dreaded Graves-undead based team.
It was a close battle – I mean, DOWN TO THE WIRE really but I still came away with a win. After a few battles where I was mixing up the teams, though – I started getting a team of triple Anubisath Idols. Now I’ve come across this character before. He’s a botter. How do I know this? The biggest clue/hint you get is when the fight starts. They always take the entire time to choose the first pet. Always. Then, the moves they do never change. Ever. No matter what you do to them, they make the same exact moves every time.
How I realized it was truly a botter though was because I came up against him twice – the first time with my Arcane Storm team with Zeradar. I lost of course! So every time I come up against a jerk team, I think it’s fun to queue with a copy of the team. Just for laughs, of course. I don’t have three Anubisath Idols though, but I do have two and I put Graves in there for some good measure. I beat him. It is easy to beat a scripted moveset… and at that point I wasn’t entire sure it was a botter. So what happened next was probably the best part of the entire day. I was ONLY getting queued up against this team so I figured everyone else was giving up. Alright then – I’ll deal with this! I created a counter team – two pigs and a snail. I began farming him for wins. This is why I know he was a botter. He played every game, the same moves, no changes and after 25+ wins, he kept still playing! Usually when people are faced with their direct counter they just forfeit to save time. This guy did no such thing. So I spent the better part of an hour this morning farming wins on this guy. What a great way to work towards 5000 wins right!?
